Grimsby Aquatics goes from strength to strength, in its first full season as a competitive club, as it is the only club in the local area to have swimmers attending the ASA British Championships.
For qualification swimmers had to record a time at a level 1 meet, within a qualifying window from 11 March-30 May. The top 24 swimmers in Britain for each age group and event, received an invitation to compete. The next 20, in the English rankings (top 15 for 800m and 1500m), were invited to attend the ASA Summer Championships.
Billy Hendry 16 swam a new personal best in the 400m I.M event and just missed his entry time in the 1500m Freestyle. In his last events swimming for Grimsby Aquatics, the club sends best wishes as he leaves to attend Millfield School. Good luck Billy!

Continuing his clean sweep of making every final, and achieving another 3 personal best times, he finished 5th in 1500m Freestyle, 6th 100m Butterfly and 9th in both 200m Butterfly and Freestyle events. Week 2 at the Summer Nationals George continued his huge success with a bronze medal in 100m Freestyle. Just missing out on a medal a 4th position in 100m Backstroke, he finished his last race with a well-deserved silver medal in 200m Backstroke.
Oliver Duckworth qualified for 3 events at British Championships – 100m and 200m Backstroke and 200m Freestyle and another 3 at Summer Nationals. A great second week saw Oliver achieve 3 new personal best times in 100m, 400m and 1500m Freestyle with a 3rd place bronze medal for his 1500m Freestyle.
