Grimsby Aquatic Swim Team celebrated their annual presentation evening, with special guests, former Olympians Joanne Jackson and Grant Turner. Having spent the afternoon with the athletes at their swim clinic, they then joined in the evening celebrations to present the trophies. This was to celebrate the club and its achievements throughout the 2015-2016 season.
Prior to the formal presentation of the awards, Chairman Mark Crump, presented a photo montage of the years events. Some of the highlights included a Great Britain selection, National Open Water medals, National qualifiers with 3 medals, 9 Open Water qualifiers. He then introduced Grant and Joanne to present the trophies to the following:
Top male swimmer – George Barber
Top female swimmer – Lucy Woodliffe
Best performance of the year – Oliver Duckworth (British Champion – Swim Serpentine)
Best ranked performance of the year – George Barber
Head Coach Award for special Recognition – Matilda Newson/Jamie-Lea Mawer
Top junior male – Jack Wood
Top junior female – Beth Crump
Most improved male – Oliver Duckworth
Most improved female – Isobel Newson
Most improved junior male – Oscar Blanchard
Most improved junior female – Evie Barber
Most improved under10 male – Lucas Jex
Most improved under10 female – Sarah Hedges
In addition to these, the swimmers each had an individual vote as to who they wanted their swimmer of the year to be. These awards went to:

Female 25m sprint ladder winner – Lily Cade/Jamie-Lea Mawer
Male 25m sprint ladder winner – Marley Hawkins
Female 50m sprint ladder winner – Cecilia Linton/Sarah Hedges
Male 50m sprint ladder winner – Rio Newton
Louise Reece, who earlier in the day had received the National silver ASA volunteer award in Birmingham, was then presented with the clubs recognition award as their volunteer of the year.
To finish off the presentations, all the swimmers were photographed with Grant and Joanne receiving a medal and signed photograph. Special thanks to Allan Vincent for capturing all the events of the evening.
