Grimsby Aquatics portfolio of evidence for SwimMark was approved at the national panel in July 2019. The club, which was established in 2015, submitted all the elements of the SwimMark good practice criteria set out by Swim England.
By achieving the accreditation as a SwimMark club, Grimsby Aquatics has achieved national recognition that it is providing a quality service for all members, which is recognised by Sport England.
SwimMark includes key modules which support clubs to grow membership, develop volunteers and ensure the sustainability of activity in line with the objectives of the club. Since its inception in early 2015, Grimsby Aquatics has established a network of trained volunteers both on poolside, at galas and swim camps and in key behind the scenes functions such as management, welfare, administration and finance.
‘This recent approval of our portfolio of evidence is essential in ensuring the continued success of Grimsby Aquatics Swim Team. It demonstrates to everyone that our club development plans, volunteer records, finance and training are all at the quality standard set by Swim England’ added Training Coordinator, Katie Hedges.
Formerly called swim21, SwimMark accreditation is Swim England’s quality standard for clubs. It recognises high standards of governance, sustainability and effectiveness. Any affiliated Swim England club can apply for the accreditation, regardless of your club’s size or the disciplines you deliver.
